On the occasion of the elections on Sunday July 1, the state government decreed the “dry law” in the entity for a period of 59 hours from 12. a.m. on Saturday June 30 until 11 a.m. Monday July 2.
The Director of Protection against Health Risks of the State Health Department, Miguel Angel Soberanis, warned that during this period the sale of alcoholic beverages is prohibited and its compliance will be verified by the agency’s inspectors.
He also said that all owners of establishments and premises engaged in the sale, sale, supply and distribution of intoxicating beverages must comply with this legal provision, and the prohibition is extended to the general population in terms of consumption.
Soberanis Luna added that the provision has already been published in the Official Gazette of the State and its objective is to guarantee the order during the electoral day.
