CHICXULUB PUERTO — With an investment of almost 2.5 million pesos (approx. $120,000 USD), the remodeling works of the main park of the Chicxulub Puerto began a few days ago.
The investment is through the Secretariat of Agrarian, Territorial and Urban Development (Sedatu), as well as the City Council of Progreso, informed the official María Elena Figueroa León, who said that for the works 40 new benches, children’s games, colonial-style lighting, a gazebo and artificial turf will be installed.
The improvements will include signage to not allow animals to do their physiological needs in the park, and to prevent people from throwing away their waste they will place trash cans for organic and inorganic waste.
Figueroa León indicated that the works began on May 30 and will conclude on July 17, with the inauguration by federal and municipal authorities.
