EL CUYO, Yucatan — The Tizimileño port of El Cuyo recorded last weekend a regular influx of visitors who enjoyed its crystalline beaches, to mitigate the intense heat that is felt in this region as in the entire Peninsula.

However, service providers ensure that sales still are not picking up because most visitors spend only a few hours and consume little of what is sold there, and they do not occupy rooms for the night.

The most consumed product is fried fish, which is sold by kilos, as well as some snacks from the region.

The restaurateurs and hoteliers set their hopes for next weekend’s event, El Cuyo Beach Festival 2018, which for the third consecutive year is being organized by city hall.

For those dates, already reservations in hotels, inns and all the houses that are offered for rent have been set aside, especially in the summer area where the highest concentration of people is registered, because in that area the festival will be staged.

It is expected that for those days, service providers will prepare themselves to meet the demand of consumers, both for food and for sweet and sour drinks.
